Skopje, 20 April 2025 (MIA) - Believers of the Roman Catholic Church are celebrating on Sunday the Resurrection of the Christ - Easter, the greatest Christian holiday, which this year also lands on the same day for Orthodox believers.
The central celebration in the country took place at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Skopje.
The Easter liturgy at the Church was led by the Bishop of Skopje and Eparchial Bishop of the Macedonian Catholic Eparchy of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Strumica-Skopje, Kiro Stojanov. He read the Easter sermon and extended his Easter greeting to all Catholic believers.
Previously, in his Easter message to the faithful, Bishop Kiro Stojanov conveyed the Pope's appeal "during the Jubilee of Hope in a year when Easter is celebrated by all Christians on the same date, let us all, as disciples of Christ, understand this as an opportunity to take a decisive step forward toward unity around a common date for Easter."
