Durlovski on concerts marking 25 years in opera: Music most sincere language when words are not enough (video and photo gallery)

Skopje, 19 December 2025 (MIA) — Macedonian opera singer Igor Durlovski, commenting on the two recent concerts given together with Ana Durlovski at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, said music was the sincerest language when words are not enough.

"Two concerts, two evenings filled with a lot of emotions and love," he wrote in a Facebook post following the concerts the opera singers gave accompanied by Ajga chamber orchestra, conducted by Ana Spasovska.

The concerts were made possible by a group of people "who believe culture is not an event, but an obligation, institutional support, sincere partnership, media care and dedicated friendship," he wrote.

According to the opera bass singer, it takes many more than just a few to shoulder the responsibility of championing art.

"We had colleagues on stage who turned their profession into a shared responsibility, well aware that music is the most sincere language when words are not enough.

"I will not mention any names out of respect for the fact that when art succeeds, it is never due to the labor of a few. Thank you," Durlovski wrote.

The renowned Macedonian opera couple performed a selection of traditional Macedonian love songs, newly arranged for the concerts by Macedonian composer Soni Petrovski.

The two concerts were held to mark Ana and Igor Durlovski's 25th year in opera. mr/
