44 burn patients being treated abroad, Taravari says

Kumanovo, 24 April 2025 (MIA) – Health Minister Arben Taravari stated Thursday in Kumanovo that 44 patients, injured in the Kochani nightclub fire, are receiving treatment abroad.

Taravari said that one female patient will return on Friday, the patients are in stable condition, and the remaining out of the 193 are being treated at home.

“I hope we can provide the best possible rehabilitation, expected to take one to two months. For about 40 patients, recovery will take from six months up to two years. This analysis was conducted by experts from the UK with extensive experience in treating such injuries,” Taravari said.

He added that there are plans for the more serious cases to receive further treatment abroad, with the aim of improving their quality of life after returning home.

The March 16 fire that broke out in the Pulse nightclub in Kochani killed 62 people and almost 200 were left injured.
