Skopje, 19 October 2024 (МIА) – Slovenian filmmaker Igor Vrtacnik's "Maverick from the Edge" (2024) was screened at the opening of the 15th ECHO Mountain Film Festival on Friday evening.

As part of the festival on Saturday, beginning at 6 pm, representatives from Shar Mountain National Park will present their activities and challenges, and the Macedonian Ecological Society will give a presentation titled "Fires: What to Do Before and After."

A screening of "Paradise" (2024) by France-based Russian filmmaker Alexander Abaturov will follow.

The Echo Mountain Film Festival screenings will continue at the Cinematheque through Friday.

Films include "Simply Beautiful" (2024) by Czech filmmaker Tomas Galasek; "Balkan Peaks" (2023) by French filmmaker Jérémy Rolé; "KarakoRun" (2023) by Polish filmmaker Adrian Dmoch; "Up There On Top" (2024) by Italian filmmaker Giovanni Grossi; "Mountain Ride" (2024) by Swiss filmmaker Dominique Margot; "Grand Canyon" (2023) by Slovak filmmaker Pavol Barabas; and "Marmolada. Madre Roccia" (2024) bi Italian filmmakers Matteo Maggi and Christiana Pecci. mr/
