VMRO-DPMNE picks 16 more candidates for mayors ahead of October elections

Skopje, 3 September 2025 (MIA) - The VMRO-DPMNE Executive Committee at a September 3 session selected 16 more mayoral candidates for the upcoming local elections.

Jane Miceski was elected as the mayoral candidate for the municipality of Sopište, Aleksandar Jovanoski for Kičevo, Oliver Aleksovski for Kriva Palanka, Omer Jakuposki for Mavrovo and Rostuše, Sasho Ronkovski for Krivogaštani, Erdžan Demir for Šuto Orizari, Niko Čoneski for Kruševo, Gjoko Kamčev for Valandovo, Mitko Kostadinovski for Vinica, Nikola Nedoski for Demir Hisar, Jordan Kostadinov for Cešinovo Obleševo, Ljupčo Počiganec for Radoviš, Dejan Andonovski for Čaška, Dejan Prodanoski for Prilep, Petar Jankov for Strumica, and Blagoj Acev for Negotino. For Kisela Voda, the polls are still ongoing and it will be decided as soon as possible who will be the candidate, said the VMRO-DPMNE Secretary General, Gjorgjija Sajkoski.

“In Kumanovo and Centar, the candidates who will be proposed by the coalition partner ZNAM will be supported. We are convinced of the ability of each elected candidate. These are people who are proven in their areas and sectors of work. Each candidate is respected as an individual in the settlement they come from. They are considered honest, honest and hardworking people who keep their word and who will be true fathers of the city,” said Sajkoski after the session of the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee, he noted, based on internal party analyses and polls concluded that VMRO-DPMNE is on track for another historic victory in the upcoming local elections.
