Skopje, 3 February 2026 (MIA) - The number of employees in industry in the period January-December 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, decreased by 3.5, State Statistical Office data show. 

According to the State Statistical Office, the number of employees in industry in December 2025 decreased by 2.8% compared to the same month in 2024. 

The number of employees in industry in the section Mining and quarrying in December 2025, in comparison with December 2024, decreased by 6.0%, in the section Manufacturing it decreased by 2.7%, and in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 0.5%.

The number of employees in industry by Main Industrial Groupings in December 2025, in comparison with December 2024, was lower in Energy by 2.5%, Capital goods by 4.3%, Non-durable consumer goods by 3.3% and Intermediate goods, except energy by 1.8%, but higher in Durable consumer goods by 4.0%.
