Misajlovski-Miller: Investing in defense capacities remains our top priority

Skopje, 11 April 2026 (MIA) – Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski met in Washington with Michael Miller, Director of the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

“Important meetings and strategic cooperation! Investing in defense capacities remains our top priority having in mind their key role in providing stability and security in the region,” Misajlovski said in a Facebook post.

Talks focused on the ongoing successful cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense, enabled through the support programs of the U.S. to secure financing, equipment and support for allied countries, said Misajlovski.

“In the coming period, there will be fresh procurements aimed at modernizing and strengthening army capacities. Cooperation with our strategic partner, the United States, resumes with clear joint commitment to further development and improving the defense sector,” the minister said.

“The strategic partnership and defense cooperation were reaffirmed at the meeting. It is considered a firm basis to further enhance and improve the partnership with the United States in the interest of regional and global security. I also thanked for the current support that plays an important role in the development and modernization of Macedonian defense capacities and in strengthening our readiness and interoperability with the allies,” Minister Misajlovski said.
