Grubi to be placed under house arrest

Skopje, 23 February 2026 (MIA) — Former deputy prime minister Artan Grubi will be placed under house arrest, sources familiar with the case said.

The prosecutors have reportedly requested from a pretrial judge to order the house arrest of Grubi, who had handed himself to the police earlier Monday and expressed his willingness to cooperate with the authorities.

In addition to requesting house arrest instead of jail before the trial, the prosecutors also said Grubi's defense had submitted documents related to the State Lottery case, which they said they would go over in the next few days.

Grubi was to be placed under house arrest because his personal safety and that of his family could not be guaranteed, the prosecutors said, adding they had already seized his passport. mr/
