Deputy PM Sali attends memorial ceremony in Kiev, set to meet Ukraine's Svyrydenko and Kachka

Skopje, 24 February 2026 (MIA) - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Bekim Sali is paying Tuesday an official working visit to Kiev, Ukraine. During the visit, Sali will hold several meetings with top officials of Ukrainian institutions.
Minister Sali will attend a memorial ceremony in honour of Ukraine’s fallen defenders, alongside Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, voicing solidarity and support to the Ukrainian people, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.
The agenda also includes a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, focusing on progress in the European integration process, reform implementation and promotion of cooperation between the two countries in the EU accession process.

Sali is also scheduled to meet with Chair of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, for talks on parliamentary cooperation and exchange of experience in the accession negotiations, reads the press release.
In addition, Sali will meet with the Supreme Mufti of Ukraine and Head of the Religious Administration of Ukrainian Muslims, Akhmed Tamim, to discuss interreligious dialogue and the role of religious communities in promoting peace and social stability.
According to the Ministry, the visit aims to deepen bilateral cooperation and reaffirm North Macedonia’s support for Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Euro-Atlantic perspective.
