VMRO-DPMNE and 'Worth It' coalition's working groups in talks for future government

Skopje, 13 May 2024 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE and the “Worth It” coalition are set to continue their discussions on Monday at the level of working groups for possible coalition-building in the future government, after agreeing on the general principles of cooperation over the weekend.

A meeting between VMRO-DPMNE and the “Worth It” coalition was held Saturday, attended by VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski and the leaders of the parties that make up the “Worth It” coalition – Arben Taravari, Izet Mexhiti, Bilall Kasami and Afrim Gashi.

“Cooperation will be based on three postulates: Euro-integrations, accelerated economic development, and fight against crime and corruption and rule of law. It was concluded that both parties will establish working groups that will continue the talks until their finalization,” VMRO-DPMNE said in the press release.

The “Worth It” coalition said they believe the initial meeting and talks moved in a positive direction.

According to the official results of the parliamentary elections, VMRO-DPMNE's “Your Macedonia” coalition won the most seats at the elections – 58, followed by DUI’s “European Front” coalition with 19 seats, SDSM’s “Coalition for European Future” won 18, “Worth It” coalition – 13, Levica – 6, ZNAM Movement – 6.

The State Election Commission did not receive any complaints regarding the results of the presidential elections, while nine complaints were submitted over the parliamentary elections by the “Worth It” coalition, eight by VMRO-DPMNE, five by SDSM and four by Levica.
