Skopje, 16 April 2025 (MIA) - Police officers detained late Tuesday a minor from Skopje near the Gevgelija village of Mrzenci, under the suspicion of migrant smuggling.

The police found seven migrants from Egypt during an inspection of the suspect's vehicle, which had plates registered to another car, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.

The driver attempted to escape but was soon caught and detained, whereas the migrants have been transferred to a detention-transit center.

Investigation in the case is underway.
