Skopje, 28 November 2025 (MIA) — Retirees will receive their November pension checks on Dec. 1, the PIOM Pension and Disability Insurance Fund said in a press release Friday, assuaging public concerns that the pensions would be late.

"Pensioners should be calm," the release said, adding that the government guaranteed the pensions would be paid on time. 

"There shouldn't be any doubt or fear of not getting pensions. The Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, in coordination with the government, makes the payments the first day of each month and will continue to do so in 2026," the release said.

It said Mden 9,297,493,427 was earmarked for the November pension checks.

According to the PIOM release, around Mden 151 billion would be allotted for pensions in 2026, up by Mden 30 billion from 2025.

The pension raises are aimed at alleviating the impact of inflation, the release said.

According to the PIOM, at no time in the past three decades have pension checks been increased this much in a single year. 

"This is another confirmation the government cares about improving pensioners' living standards," the release said. mr/
