No confidence motion against Toshkovski expected on agenda of April 29 plenary session

No confidence motion against Toshkovski expected on agenda of April 29 plenary session

Skopje, 24 April 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi told reporters during Thursday's briefing that the no confidence motion against the Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski, filed by Levica's parliamentary group, is expected to be put on the agenda of the next plenary session, which is to be held on April 29.

"The deadline under the Rules of Procedure is still running, whereby the Minister can provide a written response, and we schedule the session accordingly. If there is no response for another two or three days, we will have to schedule it as soon as possible, i.e. at the next coming session. We expect that session to be held on the 29th, where the no confidence motion will be the first item on the agenda," said Gashi.

At a news conference in Parliament on April 14, Levica MP Sashko Janchev said his party is filing a no confidence motion because, he noted, the Interior Minister had blatantly neglected his duties acting unprofessionally and irresponsibly, which has resulted in a series of illegal actions, scandals and rampant nepotism and cronyism at the Interior Ministry.

The Speaker during Thursday's briefing also announced presentation of two software tools which, he pointed out, will be aimed at improving digitalization in the Parliament as a process.

"This is a long-term process, one of the Parliament's top priorities. We already have concrete solutions. The Parliament already hosted a presentation of two new software tools, which will be aimed at improving the digitalization in the Parliament as a process, and will be of benefit to all citizens and especially to journalists in my opinion. In mid-May we want to organize a presentation of the two software tools in the Parliament, when we also expect to organize a very high-level conference, very important on digitalization, which will bring together top experts from Estonia, the United States, etc.," said Gashi.
