- The National Jazz Orchestra will open its 2026 concert season with a survey of music by Macedonian composers at the Philharmonic at 8 pm.
Skopje, 30 January 2026 (MIA) — The National Jazz Orchestra will open its 2026 concert season with a survey of music by Macedonian composers at the Philharmonic at 8 pm.
According to concert organizers in a press release, the concert will feature a National Opera and Ballet string ensemble and saxophone and flute player Kiril Kuzmanov and pianist Bojan Cvetkovikj as soloists. "This is a rare and carefully crafted musical combination, which opens a new sound dimension in contemporary Macedonian orchestral practice," organizers said.
The concert will be conducted by Dzhijan Emin. In addition to Emin's own compositions, the orchestra will perform works by Trajche Velkov, Gordan Spasovski, Zoran Kostadinovski, Goce Stevkovski, Sashko Nikolovski and Georgi Shareski.
Shareski will also join the orchestra on stage as a special guest, the release said. mr/
