Skopje, 3 December 2024 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani, on behalf of the Government, signed Tuesday the Agreement on the Reform and Growth Facility, following his appointment as the national coordinator for the Facility.

The Agreement establishes the principles of the financial cooperation between the European Commission and the Government of North Macedonia, as well as the obligations and conditions that the country must fulfill to receive funding through the Facility.

“In line with the Commission’s implementing decision from October 23, 2024, which approved the Reform Agenda for North Macedonia, the European Union is making available financial contributions of up to EUR 215.342.394 in nonrefundable assistance and a total financial contribution of up to EUR 535.012.159 in support of the loan, which will be released following a positive assessment of the beneficiary’s fulfillment of the payment conditions established in the Reform Agenda,” the Ministry of European Affairs said.

The Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia is expected to ratify the Agreement on the Reform and Growth Facility soon, as a result of which a total of EUR 52.5 million will be released partially as a loan and partially as nonrefundable funds.
