Mickoski and Plenković discuss regional cooperation, European perspective

Skopje, 18 March (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has met with his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković on the sidelines of the Congress of the European People’s Party (EPP), as part of his visit to Brussels. 

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Mickoski said participants in the meeting exchanged views on current challenges in Europe, regional cooperation and the European perspective. 

"Participants in the meeting exchanged views on current challenges in Europe, regional cooperation and the European perspective, with particular emphasis on promoting bilateral relations and partnership within the European family," said Mickoski. 

Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader, Hristijan Mickoski, together with a party delegation, is attending the Congress of the European People’s Party (EPP) in Brussels from March 18 to 20. The event is also attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola. 

According to VMRO-DPMNE, Mickoski together with a delegation that includes the party’s secretary general Dragan Kovachki and executive committee member Stefan Andonovski, will attend the European People’s Party ceremony in Brussels, which will celebrate the 50th anniversary of this political family. 

"The presence of Prime Minister Mickoski and the VMRO-DPMNE delegation at this high-level gathering confirms the Republic of Macedonia’s firm commitment to European integration as well as its active involvement in the processes that shape Europe’s future. At the same time, this participation represents a significant opportunity to promote national interests and strengthen the country’s position within the European political family. This opportunity will also be used for bilateral meetings between Mickoski and the party delegation with the attending presidents, prime ministers, and leaders from the European People’s Party family," VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release.
