Skopje, 4 May 2026 (MIA) — Macedonian Culture Days in Belgium opened May 2 in Antwerp with a performance of "Swan Lake" by the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, beginning a series of events designed to showcase the nation’s arts to audiences across Europe.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, promoting Macedonian cultural heritage and modern art is a top priority for 2026.

The program includes a screening "The Secret Ingredient" (2017) directed by Gjorche Stavreski, at Cinema Galleries in Brussels on Monday. The National Jazz Orchestra will perform Tuesday at the Bozar Center for Fine Arts, blending traditional Macedonian music with jazz.
In addition, an exhibition of rare early Christian terracotta icons from Vinica is scheduled to go on display at the European Parliament later this year.

Macedonian Culture Days serves as a platform to strengthen cultural ties and increase the country's visibility across Europe, organizers said.
Additional events are planned throughout the continent for the remainder of the year. mr/
