Iran launches new missile, drone attacks on Israel and Gulf states

Tehran/Tel Aviv, 11 March 2026 (dpa/MIA) - Iran's armed forces launched another wave of missile and drone attacks on Israel early on Wednesday.

Repeated rocket alerts were reported between midnight and the early morning in the greater Tel Aviv area. Residents said sleep was minimal as Israel's missile defence system intercepted the incoming projectiles.

Emergency service Magen David Adom said there were no reports of injuries.

The Times of Israel earlier reported that rockets were either intercepted or landed in uninhabited areas.

Iran also launched attacks on several Gulf states overnight.

The Saudi Ministry of Defence said seven ballistic missiles and seven drones were intercepted across various parts of the country.

In Kuwait, the Defence Ministry said four drones were intercepted while another crashed in open terrain.

Air-raid sirens also sounded in Bahrain.

The Iranian news agency Tasnim, which is close to the country's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), described the barrage as the heaviest wave of attacks since the start of the war.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said that a drone team in western Iran had been eliminated by the Israeli Air Force on Monday shortly before it could launch drones toward Israel.

The military said it was operating around the clock to target Iranian infrastructure used for firing ballistic missiles, aiming to limit the scale of attacks on Israeli territory.
