Skopje, 24 December 2025 (MIA) — The Safe City speed camera tolerances will be the same tolerances as those of hand-held radar units, Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski said in a TV appearance Wednesday evening. 

Speaking to Telma TV, Toshkovski recalled that for speeds up to 100 km/h, the tolerance was 6 km/h; for speeds over 100 km/h, the tolerance was 8 km/h; and for speeds over 200 km/h, the tolerance was 12 km/h.

In a 50 km/h zone, however, Safe City cameras would allow up to 57 km/h before issuing tickets, he said. 

Asked about the traffic law that requires a two-thirds majority in Parliament to officially introduce the Safe City speed camera system, the interior minister said there was no lawmaker who would not support the project that improves road safety and saves lives. mr/
