Athens, 15 December 2025 (MIA) - Greek farmers are set to block all traffic at the Evzoni (Bogorodica) border crossing with North Macedonia yet again on Monday from 12 PM to 4 PM, while the Niki (Medzitlija) border crossing will be closed from 7 PM to 11 PM but only for freight transport, MIA's Athens correspondent reports, citing Greek news agency ANA-MPA.
The blockades as part of the Greek farmers’ protests are continuing nationwide after they rejected an invitation to meet with the Greek Prime Minister on Monday.
According to Greek news agency ANA-MPA, all traffic will be blocked at Evzoni from 12 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM local time, while at the other border crossings, Niki with North Macedonia and Promachonas and Exochi with Bulgaria, the farmers will only block freight transport.
The farmers’ protests began on November 30 due to increased production costs and low selling prices for their products, as well as a scandal involving European agricultural subsidies. Their main demand is the payment of overdue subsidies.
Blockades have been set up on a number of motorways and local roads throughout Greece, making traffic more difficult and redirecting it to secondary streets
