Georgian, Armenian, Macedonian performances to close Bitola's monodrama festival

Bitola, 28 April 2026 (MIA) — The International Monodrama Festival's competitive program ends Tuesday evening at the Bitola Cultural Center with one Macedonian and two foreign monodramas, MIA's Bitola correspondent reports.
The evening’s lineup features Jano Izoria of Georgia’s Poti Valerian Gunia State Drama theater performing "Kvarkvare," followed by Arman Matevosyan of Armenia’s Location theater performing "Flowers for Algernon." Trajanka Ilieva Veljikj of the Skopje Drama Theater will close the competition with "Jackie," directed by Slovenian theater director Živa Bizovičar.
Earlier Tuesday, the festival hosted a theater workshop titled "The Flow of the Mind and the Soul" led by Armenian lecturer Naira Yedigaryan at the Bitola Officers' Home.
The festival officially closes Wednesday evening with an awards ceremony honoring the best monodrama and best actor. Following the award presentations, the Skopje Drama Theater will perform Johnna Adams's "Gidion's Knot" in honor of the winners. mr/
