- Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi informed reporters during Thursday’s briefing that the date for the local elections are expected to be scheduled by the end of July or early August.

Skopje, 24 April 2025 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi informed reporters during Thursday’s briefing that the date for the local elections are expected to be scheduled by the end of July or early August.
He also mentioned that a public debate in the Parliament is requested regarding the proposed amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government, which the Ministry of Local Self-Government has been announcing for some time.
Gashi said that the no-confidence motion against Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, filed by the Levica parliamentary group, is expected to be discussed at the next plenary session on April 29.
“A no confidence motion is filed because Toshkovski, as Interior Minister, severely disregarded and inadequately performed his public function, acting unprofessionally, irresponsibly, and carelessly, leading to numerous illegal acts, scandals, and staffing changes within the Interior Ministry,” said Levica MP, Sashko Janchev told a press conference on April 14.
