Skopje, 18 December 2025 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche is paying Thursday a visit to Brussels "because the fight for freedom and democracy in Macedonia requires joint action".
"The disgraceful resolution of VMRO-DPMNE and ZNAM adopted in the Parliament is a direct blow to democracy, freedom of speech, thought and political action. When the Parliament adopts an unconstitutional resolution, aimed against the opposition, then the state ceases to be a democracy and becomes authoritarian, a regime," said Filipche.

He added that SDSM will defend freedom and democracy, seeking support from all progressive and democratic forces in Europe, fellow socialist and social-democratic parties.
"Macedonia must be a free, democratic and European state. It is time to form a united civic front - for justice, freedom and democracy - irrespective of partisan, ethnic or ideological background. Let's defend Macedonia, let's defend democracy," said Filipche.
