European Front: No intention to join government coalition
- The European Front does not intend to join the government coalition, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti told Wednesday's press conference on the Government's 100 days in office.
Skopje, 2 October 2024 (MIA) - The European Front does not intend to join the government coalition, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti told Wednesday's press conference on the Government's 100 days in office.
"We are not interested in joining this government because we are not a spare tire. We do not represent anarchy and retaliation. We do not act by instinct because we are built upon a national ideology. It is not good when hearing statements 'Albanians should go to Albania' or 'This country is called Macedonia'. Albanians have always respected interethnic relations and that is why our fellow citizens Macedonians should do the same. We are not strong enough to demonstrate stubbornness before other countries, because the country needs peace and stability, and it needs to fight corruption," said Ahmeti.
Ahmeti called for vetting of all officials in the past 30 years, noting that Worth It made a fatal mistake by joining the Government.
"Do not tamper with Albanian issues, do not pick on the language and the flag, do not poke the closed wounds. Worth It have learned only one sentence 'DUI is to blame'", said Ahmeti.
Alliance for Albanians leader Ziadin Sela said the European Front has no intention to destabilize the country.
"The European Front will not destabilize, it will stage protests. Protests are not destabilization, they are democracy. We will not join this government of shame, an executive against the citizens. I call on the Worth It leaders - make us proud in our country. We do not seek power, you should come to us so that we show the red lines to Mickoski, because he has no right to behave as he pleases with this people," said Sela.
People's Movement leader Skender Rexhepi-Zejd urged Worth It officials and followers to leave the 'monoethnic, anti-Albanian government".
"They should leave this government that stopped our EU path, that de-Albanized all institutions, that stripped Albanians, Turks, Bosniaks and other non-Macedonians from the constitutional right of employment. They should leave this government and join the European Front, so that we sit together and find solutions on issues that are important for our national interest, interethnic relations, a better educational, health, economic and social development," said Rexhepi.
European Democratic Party leader Arjanit Hoxha said the new Government has de-Albanized institutions in only 100 days.
"Worst of all, they allowed for the only ministry set up to implement the Ohrid Framework Agreement to be given to Stoiljkovikj, a person sharing a Putin ideology and is openly anti-Albanian. There are thousands of mistakes they did over the past 100 days, but the worst thing is that their servitude only strengthens Macedonian nationalism, leading to de-Albanization of state institutions," stressed Hoxha.
