Skopje, 22 August 2026 (MIA) - The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said it registered a total of 17 wildfires across the country by 1 pm on Saturday. Eleven of them are active, three are under control, and three have been put out.

Active fires are burning near the villages of Morane, Vrtekica and Ramni Gaber spreading towards the villages of Paligrad and Vrazhale in the Municipalities of Studenichani and Zelenikovo, the village of Cvetovo in the Municipality of Studenichani, near the villages of Dragov Dol and Lokvica in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, the village of Tajmishte in the Municipality of Kichevo, near the village of Lomnica in the Municipality of Vrapchishte, the village of Cerovo in the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostushe, near the village of Cerovo in the Municipality of Zhelino, near the village of Bonche in the Municipality of Prilep, the village of Mazhunchishte in the Municipality of Prilep, the village of Konjari in the Municipality of Prilep, and the village of Vodocha in the Municipality of Strumica.  

Fires near the villages of Chanishte, Krushevica, Lopatica and Dunje in the Municipality of Prilep, near the village of Nikushtak in the Municipality of Lipkovo, and near the village of Brodec in the Municipality of Tetovo are under control. 

The CMC said the extinguished fires were registered in the municipalities of Krushevo, Kumanovo and Delchevo.
