Skopje, 22 December 2025 (MIA) - No crisis is at hand, the state maintains mazut reserves, Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska said Monday, noting that the Government will review at tomorrow's session ESM's request to declare a state of crisis.
Bozhinovska told reporters at Monday's press briefing that state reserves will supply ESM with mazut.
"ESM submitted a letter to the Government, it will be reviewed at the session tomorrow. We will discuss it and inform you on the details. No crisis is expected because the state has mazut reserves. Protests are underway in Greece, disrupting the procurement of mazut for 30 days now, but state reserves will supply ESM with mazut. There will be no impact on the supply. Mazut is available in the country, if it's not procured from Greece, it will be procured from the reserves," Bozhinovska said in response to a reporter's question on whether there is a problem with the procurement of mazut and whether a state of crisis will be declared.

The Minister expects MEPSO to finalize the selection of a company for the construction of a transmission line with Albania and sign the agreement by the end of this week.
"It will be signed by the end of the week. MEPSO will certainly provide further details but, to my knowledge, everything is completed, we are only waiting for an official signature," Bozhinovska noted.
She added that natural gas transmission operator NOMAGAS has a new director, as well as that the agreement is signed for a term of 22 months.
"We are looking to make sure that everything is in order. We also held a bilateral meeting in Serbia, discussing Serbia - Macedonia, we have 23 kilometres, we will act together, and we will see details about financing with the World Bank. We expect it to be completed by the end of 2027, Greece - Macedonia - Serbia will be transited," said Bozhinovska.
In addition, she noted that the interconnection of energy markets is scheduled for 2027, so no market merger is expected in 2026 in any Energy Community member.
