Skopje, 29 April 2025 (MIA) - The VLEN coalition declared Tuesday a moratorium on all public political activities of the parties that make up the coalition, noting that they will now act as a single political entity.

The presidency, which held its first meeting on Tuesday evening, is the first joint body of VLEN. The other bodies will be established at future meetings, according to Besa Movement leader Bilall Kasami.

“VLEN’s presidency is its first joint body. From now on, VLEN is declaring a moratorium on public political activities of the parties that make up the coalition and from now on everything will be conducted under the name and logo of VLEN. At future meetings, VLEN will also establish other bodies such as its headquarters, local and central election headquarters,” Kasami said.

Kasami added that VLEN’s parliamentary group would continue to function in Parliament with the MPs that support it.

The first meeting of VLEN’s presidency was held in Skopje. Besides Kasami, the meeting was also attended by Izet Mexhiti from the Democratic Movement, Zeqirija Ibrahimi from Alternativa and independent MP from Vetëvendosje, Bekim Qoku.

Ahead of the meeting, Mexhiti said the Government is stable and there would be no need to hold early parliamentary elections. 

“Preparations are underway for the local elections in October in which, in addition to partisan candidates, VLEN will also run with independent candidates for council members or mayors, citizens who are professionals in their field,” Mexhiti said.
