Skopje, 7 April 2026 (MIA) - As part of her official visit to the United States, the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, held a meeting at the White House with Jarrod Agen, Deputy Assistant to President Donald Trump and Executive Director of the U.S. National Energy Dominance Council.

“The talks were conducted in an open and constructive dialogue, with a clear focus on strategic priorities and ways to advance cooperation and were assessed by both sides as highly productive and useful,” the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources said in a press release.

According to the Ministry, Jarrod Agen is a senior official with a key role in shaping and coordinating U.S. energy policies, with direct insight into sector’s strategic priorities and development processes. His experience and knowledge of global energy trends represent an important basis for the development of future partnerships and projects.

“The meeting focused on advancing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including energy security and supply stability, diversification of energy sources, and the development of strategic infrastructure projects of mutual interest,” reads the press release.

Minister Bozhinovska underscored North Macedonia’s readiness to deepen cooperation and implement concrete initiatives, noting that partnership with the United States is a significant factor for the long-term stability and development of the energy sector.

Executive Director of the U.S. National Energy Dominance Council, Agen, emphasized that there are so many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries that they could transform the region’s energy landscape for decades.

They agreed that there is clear potential to intensify cooperation, with a focus on projects that will deliver tangible results and contribute to economic development and energy security of both countries.

The Ministry said the meeting is part of a series of bilateral meetings held by Minister Bozhinovska as part of a high-level government delegation at the second session of the Strategic Dialogue between the two countries, where discussions are underway on advancing cooperation with the United States in several key areas: energy, economy, security and technology.
