Skopje, 24 April 2025 (MIA) — St. Naum of Ohrid Surgery Hospital opened Thursday its fully renovated and equipped surgical ward for abdominal surgeries, funded through a donation from the Sport Life company.

The donation includes 24 new hospital beds, dozens of medical mattresses, infusion stands, various hospital furniture as well as blood pressure and blood glucose monitors.

Speaking at a press conference Thursday, Sport Life head of marketing Petar Pockov said the electrical wiring and plumbing had also been replaced.

"As a socially responsible company, we are here to make our contribution to the development of society," Pockov said.

St. Naum of Ohrid Surgery Hospital director Nebojsha Nastov said the 400-square-meter postoperative recovery unit had also been completely renovated and equipped to receive and treat post-op patients.

Nastov thanked the company on behalf of the entire staff, expressing his hope that other socially responsible companies would follow Sport Life's example. mr/
