Skopje, 16 April 2025 (MIA) - Around twenty of the injured in the fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kochani will need long-term rehabilitation, with the recovery time for some of them potentially lasting up to two years, Health Minister Arben Taravari told journalists Wednesday.
“An evaluation has been conducted by experts from the United Kingdom over how much time will be needed for their rehabilitation. We already have a list of everyone that will remain abroad longer. We also know the potential duration of their rehabilitation,” Taravari said.
According to Taravari, the recovery time varies and could last between 1 and 24 months for more serious cases.
“Around 20 patients will need extended rehabilitation... We are preparing a center for them within the ‘September 8’ hospital. We have also had offers by several countries for free long-term rehabilitation,” Taravari said.
The Minister said efforts will also be made to secure funds to cover the expenses of the family members of the patients that will have to remain abroad longer for rehabilitation.
Asked about the current state of the injured, Taravari said 47 patients are being treated abroad, with one patient being in critical condition.
“One of the two patients who were critical has improved today, and we hope the patient’s condition will continue to improve,” Taravari said.
According to the Minister, one patient is expected to return to the country on Thursday.
Five patients are currently receiving treatment in medical facilities in the country.
