Mickoski: Reform agenda no longer plan on paper; delivering concrete results

Skopje, 20 April 2026 (MIA) — The reform agenda is no longer just a plan on paper; it is delivering concrete, measurable results, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski wrote on his Facebook profile after hosting a meeting with EU ambassadors earlier Monday.

Meeting participants discussed the progress and next steps for implementing the reform agenda.

"Recently, we have accelerated implementation in all key areas. Several steps have already been fully implemented and others are progressing faster than planned. This reflects a strong political commitment, better coordination between institutions and a clear focus on results," Mickoski wrote.

In terms of public finances, he added, the government has strengthened accountability and transparency.

"Institutions are reporting more, managing risks more systematically and applying stricter controls over public spending. At the same time, we are modernizing the budget system and improving how we plan and monitor public investments. The message is simple: public funds are being managed more responsibly and efficiently," the prime minister pointed out.

These reforms, according to him, are not isolated activities. They are part of a broader transformation bringing the economy closer to the EU single market.

"They strengthen our institutions in line with European standards and deliver concrete results for citizens and businesses. We remain fully aligned with the European Union — politically, economically and strategically," Mickoski wrote. mr/
