Mickoski attends European People’s Party Congress

Skopje, 18 March 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader, Hristijan Mickoski, together with a party delegation, will attend the Congress of the European People’s Party (EPP) in Brussels from March 18 to 20. The event will also be attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, the VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release.

The attendance at the congress is a confirmation of the Republic of Macedonia’s strong commitment to European integration and the occasion will also be used for bilateral meetings with presidents, prime ministers and leaders from the European People’s Party family.

Mickoski, together with a delegation that includes the party’s secretary general Dragan Kovachki and executive committee member Stefan Andonovski, will attend the European People’s Party ceremony in Brussels, which will celebrate the 50th anniversary of this political family, which has played a central role in the construction of Europe, shaping its direction, and defending its core values for five decades.

“The presence of Prime Minister Mickoski and the VMRO-DPMNE delegation at this high-level gathering confirms the Republic of Macedonia’s firm commitment to European integration as well as its active involvement in the processes that shape Europe’s future. At the same time, this participation represents a significant opportunity to promote national interests and strengthen the country’s position within the European political family. This opportunity will also be used for bilateral meetings between Mickoski and the party delegation with the attending presidents, prime ministers, and leaders from the European People’s Party family,” VMRO-DPMNE stated.
