Skopje, 1 June 2026 (MIA) - Another aparent lie by Hristijan Mickoski has been confirmed - intentional failure to implement the reform agenda, said SDSM leader Venko Filipche on Monday and added that the PM stalls the country's Europeasn prospects after the expiration of the June 1 deadline for the adoption of key pieces of legislation.
Filipche told a press conference that out of the 16 laws that were set to be adopted by June 2025, only six were passed, while of the 10 that saw the deadline extended by June 2026, only two have been adopted.
"The realization is only 20 percent, which shows that the Government neither has the capacity nor the will to implement reforms," said Filipche.
He added that certain laws that the Government has checked as implemented are not aligned with European standards, primarily the Law on Electronic Communications and the Law on the Judicial Council, while noting there is a list of 33 other laws that are yet to be passed by the end of 2026.
"Montenegro and Albania are closing negotiating chapters, while out reforms are stalled," said Filipche.
The SDSM leader urged the Government to schedule a referendum on the country's European path.
"You have no political or moral right to do this to Macedonia and the generations that have been waiting for decades to see the European story materialize. If you do not make the step that poses no risk to our identity and language, coming generations will emigrate in masses," said Filipche.
