Andonovski – Godliauskas: Building cyber resilience a matter of cooperation and coordination

Skopje, 19 May 2026 (MIA) - Strengthening cooperation in cybersecurity, exchanging experiences and building more resilient institutional capacities for dealing with modern digital threats were the topics discussed at the meeting of Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, with the Vice-Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania, Tomas Godliauskas, in Vilnius.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, at the meeting Andonovski said cybersecurity is one of the key prerequisites for a successful digital transformation, trust in digital services, and protection of the institutions and citizens.

“Building resilience in cyberspace is a matter of cooperation and coordination. Today’s digital threats recognize no borders, which is why the response must be joint, organized, and based on trust between institutions and partners. For Macedonia it is especially important to learn from countries such as Lithuania, which are successfully connecting defense, civil, and technological capacities within a unified system of protection,” Andonovski stressed.

At the meeting, Andonovski and Godliauskas stressed that cooperation between the two countries is significant not only within NATO, but also as a partnership founded on friendship, trust, and shared values.

“Vice-Minister Godliauskas said Lithuania does not see Macedonia just as a NATO ally, but also as a friendly country with which there is room for enhancement of cooperation in areas of mutual interest,” the Ministry of Digital Transformation said.
