All Macedonian nationals requesting help evacuated from Middle East

Skopje, 18 March 2026 (MIA) — All Macedonian citizens from the Middle East who requested assistance have been safely evacuated, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said Wednesday.
The evacuation was completed Tuesday with a fifth charter flight landing at Skopje International Airport. The flight carried 147 passengers, including 119 Macedonian citizens and 28 foreign nationals.
"With this, the state has shown its readiness to react in a timely manner in crisis situations, protecting the safety of Macedonian citizens as well as showing solidarity with citizens from friendly countries in the region and beyond," the ministry said in a press release.
A total of 605 Macedonian citizens have been evacuated. The government covered all costs for the organized charter flights.
The ministry's SOS hotline and diplomatic missions remain available to citizens still in the region, the release said. mr/
