Skopje, 11 December 2025 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche condemned Wednesday’s attack on journalists from the Infomax news website and called on the authorities to clear up the case.

At a press conference on Thursday, the opposition leader said that according to SDSM’s information, the attacker is a member of ruling party VMRO-DPMNE.

Filipche said the country is experiencing a “Serbian scenario” and called on all parties, nongovernmental organizations, students, and public figures to a meeting “to define the next steps for Macedonia”.

“Last night, a physical attack happened while a program was being broadcast live. This is the biggest media incident since the raid on A1 in 2010. The situation is alarming and very serious. VMRO-DPMNE has betrayed Macedonia. For days, we have been talking about the model taken from Serbia. We are now seeing the same scenario as we did ten years ago when Gruevski and Mijalkov were in power. The freedom of the citizens and the press is in danger,” Filipche stressed.

In a press release earlier on Thursday, the Interior Ministry said the police have detained a 43-year-old man from Skopje following a report received by a journalist from the Infomax news website at 11:45 AM on December 10, which said that a male individual had entered the Infomax newsroom while a live program was being broadcast and proceeded to damage two doors and obstruct the broadcast.
