Mucunski: Gov't has neither implement nor will it implement a policy of admitting migrants in any shape or form

Skopje, 11 December 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski on Thursday said he categorically denies reports that there is any agreement on admitting migrants.

“I want to be crystal clear: this government has neither implemented nor will it implement a policy of admitting migrants - in any shape or form. There are no agreements, no talks, no quotas, no hubs, no transit arrangements. No such initiative has been considered, there is no political intent in this direction. It’s all absolute lies,” Mucunski wrote in a Facebook post.

The government, he added, is fully committed to economic development and to improving the quality of life of the citizens and it has been building partnerships that produce concrete benefits for every family, every municipality and for the country as a whole.

“The strategic partnership with the United Kingdom is based on mutual respect and trust and on cooperation in politics, economy and security, meaning real initiatives and projects that accelerate economic development, open jobs and produce tangible benefits for the citizens instead of scenarios designed for daily politics,” Mucunski said.

The minister noted that the topic on the country allegedly admitting migrants is “a classic daily political attempt at defocusing – coming as a consequence from the dramatically low rating and state of being devoid of ideas gripping SDSM for a long time.”

“It’s utterly irresponsible to hold news conferences, based in sensationalist, unchecked and inaccurate information, to create a false public perception and to misuse sensitive topics to meet partisan interests,” concluded Minister Mucunski.
