Skopje, 11 December 2025 (MIA) – Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski met Thursday with a delegation of the US Embassy, led by Ambassador Angela Aggeler, in what was her first visit to the City of Skopje since being appointed.

“I informed her about the election program, the dynamic with which it is being implemented and the City of Skopje’s ongoing projects,” Gjorgjievski wrote in a Facebook post.

We, he added, talked openly about challenges, visions and the strategic priorities for the city’s development in the coming years. 

“It was important that we concluded that there must be an uncompromising fight against corruption at all levels. We agreed that only with transparency, accountability and strong institutions we can create a modern society. The United States is our reliable and years-long strategic partner. The support we get from the United States in the development of institutions, in democracy and economy is of key importance for our progress,” wrote the mayor saying he is confident the partnership will enhance further so as to create new opportunities for the residents of Skopje.
