Skopje, 7 March 2026 (MIA) - SDSM has canceled its traditional March 8 rally, which was scheduled for Sunday in Bogdanci, and will join the “We Will Not Be Erased” protest in Skopje, party leader Venko Filipche said Saturday.

SDSM leader Filipche said at a press conference that the party will join citizens on Sunday.

“This year, we were also scheduled to mark March 8, but the tragic incident in Skopje, the death of a mother and her child, deeply shook us. This is not an individual tragedy, but yet another proof of the systemic problem of violence against women, the inadequate response of institutions, and their failure to address this issue. We will join the citizens to say enough is enough, no more women and children should die because institutions fail to act,” Filipche stated.

He noted that SDSM is not one of the organizers of Sunday’s protest, but its members and supporters are joining as citizens.
