Vienna, 15 March 2026 (dpa/MIA) - Two pedestrians were stabbed in the Austrian city of Linz on Saturday, leaving one dead and the other seriously injured, police said.

Authorities said the suspect was quickly arrested. The motive remains unclear, and police plan to release further details about the victims and the suspect later.

A police spokeswoman told dpa investigators were exploring all possible angles. Local newspaper Kronen Zeitung reported unconfirmed claims that the attacker shouted insults at Muslims and that a witness saw him standing in the middle of the street, temporarily blocking traffic.
