Skopje, 16 March 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski spoke Monday over the phone with Albania's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha, reaffirming their satisfaction from the excellent bilateral relations and expressing readiness for their further enhancement.

Ministers Mucunski and Hoxha referred to the countries' European prospects and joint activities on the European Union accession path, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

Interlocutors also highlighted the importance of the Corridor VIII project, which is a priority for both countries and of great importance for promotion of regional connectivity and development.

FM Mucunski noted the importance of the Macedonian national minority in Albania and its contribution to the enhancement of bilateral relations.

In addition, the FMs discussed Lake Ohrid and tasks arising from UNESCO, along with the joint responsibility for its protection and sustainable management of the region.

Mucunski and Hoxha exchanged opinions on regional cooperation, emphasizing the importance of goodneighborly relations and the countries' contribution to the area's stability and security, reads the press release.
