Skopje, 24 March 2026 (MIA) - The traditionally sound cultural ties and the joint commitment for their further enhancement were in the focus of a meeting between Minister of Culture and Tourism Zoran Ljutkov and Turkish counterpart Mehmet Nuri Ersoy in Ankara on Monday.

Ministers Ljutkov and Ersoy highlighted the readiness for enhancement of cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism through joint projects, including digitalization of cultural heritage, development of creative industries, co-productions, and strengthening of cultural tourism, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said in a press release.

Interlocutors discussed specific steps aimed at increasing the number of Turkish tourists in Macedonia and attraction of Turkish investors focused on the development of tourism infrastructure.

The meeting was also attended by the national tourism coordinator Akan Mahmut and Ambassador to Turkey, Jovan Manasievski, reads the press release.
