Israel says it struck missile storage site, IRGC university in Tehran

Tel Aviv, 7 March 2026 (dpa/MIA) - The Israeli military said it carried out overnight strikes on targets in Tehran, including an underground storage facility for ballistic missiles and a military university run by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
More than 80 fighter jets were involved in the operation, the military said in a post on Telegram.
Israel and the United States have been carrying out large-scale attacks on Iran for the past week.
Iran has in turn fired missiles at Israel and US-allied neighbouring countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, which have reported new launches in recent hours.
The Imam Hossein University in Tehran was used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a gathering point and was therefore considered a legitimate military target, the Israeli military said.

The military also said it struck another storage location belonging to Iran’s missile unit, which contained military bunkers and launch infrastructure.
Other targets included missile launch sites in western and central Iran, aimed at reducing Iran’s ability to fire on Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces said on Friday morning that it had launched a further wave of strikes targeting sites linked to what it called the "Iranian terror regime" in Tehran and the central city of Isfahan.
Iran continued its attacks on Israel overnight into Saturday.
Israel issued seven alerts between Friday evening and Saturday morning, urging people in various parts of the country to seek shelter because of incoming missiles from Iran.
There were initially no reports of impacts, damage from debris, or casualties.
