Skopje, 19 December 2025 (MIA) — Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski attended Friday an event celebrating the sixth anniversary of the Skopje Police Department's Intervention Police Unit.
"Together with the members of the Intervention Police Unit at the Skopje Police Department, we celebrated six years since its establishment — six years of courage, professionalism and dedicated service to the protection of citizens and public order," Toshkoski wrote on Facebook.

He said the intervention police had carried out almost 30,000 interventions over the past year.
"The results are clear and measurable," he said. "Among other things, the number of robberies has significantly decreased."
The success of the unit was shown not in these "numbers on paper," however, but in actually protecting the security of citizens, he said.

"We will continue to strongly support them and invest in their equipment, training and human potential, because only a strong, prepared and motivated police can guarantee a secure future," Toshkovski wrote.
Congratulating the intervention police on their anniversary, he also praised their sacrifice and professionalism. "I am proud of their work and the results they deliver every day for a safe Macedonia," Toshkovski wrote. mr/
