Minister Murtezani, RCC SG Kapetanović discuss common regional market

Skopje, 25 February 2025 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani met Tuesday with Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretary General Amer Kapetanović, exchanging opinions on initiatives for regional integration and RCC's role in supporting the Western Balkans' Euro-integration progress.

Murtezani and Kapetanović focused on the Action Plan for a Common Regional Market, which is part of the second pillar of the European Commission's Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, highlighting the importance of deepening economic cooperation and competitiveness among countries in the area, towards integration in the EU Single Market, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.

Interlocutors agreed that implementation of the Action Plan is crucial for promotion of economic integration and creating favorable circumstances for free movement of commodities, services and workers. They also discussed the significance of cooperation in the sectors of energy, transport and digitization, aimed to improve the region's competitiveness and contribute to its economic stability.

Minister Murtezani expressed gratitude for RCC's support to all initiatives for promotion of regional dialogue and integration, while reaffirming North Macedonia's commitment to resume with the reform efforts and invest in economic integration and alignment with European standards, reads the press release.
