European Affairs Committee chair meets Danish ambassador

Skopje, 25 February 2025 (MIA) — Parliamentary European Affairs Committee chair and Deputy Parliament Speaker Antonijo Miloshoski met Tuesday with Denmark's non-resident ambassador Pernille Dahler Kardel.
According to an official press release, they discussed latest global developments as well as North Macedonia's accession to the European Union, including the country's challenges in the process.
The meeting also discussed some key reforms that are part of the accession negotiations and the country's commitment to meeting obligations on its EU path.
Miloshoski thanked the Danish ambassador on the support for the country's EU membership, stressing that he expected it to continue during the Danish presidency of the EU in the second half of 2025.
On the EU accession process, Ambassador Kardel said Denmark's position was that the Western Balkans were welcome in the bloc, highlighting the importance of meeting the EU's standards in the areas of democracy, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights.
Meeting participants also exchanged opinions the current challenges facing the EU, the benefits for citizens of EU membership as well as the need for promoting European values, the release adds. mr/
