Skopje, 5 February 2026 (MIA) - We will have an opportunity to launch a cycle of meetings and briefing with representatives of member states of the European Union in our country and I believe that in this way we can better present the Government’s activities related to the Reform Agenda, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said at a briefing Thursday on the Reform Agenda with the ambassadors of the EU member states.
The Prime Minister said some of the reforms are being implemented, while others will not be implemented due to “objective reasons”, adding that the representatives of the international community have been notified of this.

“Immediately after the local elections, sometime in November, we worked intensively on the Reform Agenda and the implementation of the steps that are a part of the Reform Agenda – those we can implement. Those that we cannot implement, we are objectively stating why we cannot, because we wouldn’t want to be a Government that promises one thing to our partners from the international community, while doing another thing behind the curtains. What we can deliver, we will deliver, and we will also present our arguments on the things we cannot deliver. We are always ready for sincere dialogue and conversation with our partners from the international community, especially our partners from the EU,” the Prime Minister stressed.
Prime Minister Mickoski stressed there won’t be elections in the country in 2026, since the Government is focused on implementing reforms and establishing order in the country.

“We won’t have elections this year. Just to clear that up since some of you often ask me if we will have elections. This ambitious agenda itself states that we won’t have elections this year since we are focused on reforms and establishing order in the country,” the Prime Minister said.

Mickoski stressed that the country has a fairly ambitious reform agenda for 2026. “The goal is for us to do our homework, then it is up to the EU member states to decide how to proceed,” the PM stressed.
Mickoski said the Government would hold a similar briefing in March and in June, aiming to hold briefings at least once every quarter in order to present the implemented steps of the Reform Agenda to the representatives of the international community.
