Skopje, 29 January 2025 (MIA) - Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski met Wednesday with the Swedish Ambassador to North Macedonia, Ami Larsson Jain.

At the meeting, Toshkovski and Larsson Jain discussed the cooperation between the two countries and ministries, with Toshkovski voicing gratitude to the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden for strengthening the capacities of the Macedonian police and the country’s Euro-integration process.  

An emphasis was placed on the possibility of mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses between the two countries, which would simplify things for Macedonian nationals living and working in Sweden and reduce their expenses.

According to the Interior Ministry, at the meeting the Swedish Ambassador welcomed the Government and Ministry’s commitment in the fight against crime and corruption.

“The meeting also highlighted the significance of the joint project ‘Swedish Support to Police Reform’ realized with financial assistance from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA),” the Ministry said.
