Defense Minister Misajlovski attends Munich Security Conference

Skopje, 15 February 2025 (MIA) – Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski, who is part of the government delegation led by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, is taking part Friday and Saturday in the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

Misajlovski met today with David Baker, US Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, for talks on current policies involving regional and global security and the modernization and equipping of the Macedonian Army, said the Defense Ministry. 

“Baker underlined the Macedonian contribution to security of the Balkan region and NATO’s eastern flank. Misajlovski also attended the meeting of the premiers of the Macedonian and Croatian government, Hristijan Mickoski and Andrej Plenkovic, which included talks on the development of mutual cooperation and support for EU enlargement and the impact on Balkan security for continuing development of the countries in the region,” said the press release.

Misajlovski later in the day will attend a working lunch after being invited by his German counterpart Boris Pistorious, and take part in a session on the new policies of the American administration, by an invitation of the US President’s special missions envoy, Richard Grenell. 

“The Munich Security Conference is an annual forum bringing together leaders and decision makers from around the world, which includes debates on issues related to international security policies. The security conference aims at establishing dialogue and building trust allowing peaceful resolution of conflicts,” said the press release.
