PM Mickoski meets European Council President Costa

Skopje, 14 February 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met with European Council President António Costa in Munich on Friday, discussing European integration, efforts and concessions made in that regard, as well as the need to open the EU's doors.

Mickoski pointed out that the country deserves to move forward and finally not be held hostage to bilateral disputes and obstacles, of which there have been many in the past, the Government said in a press release.

"Macedonia has done a lot in that regard and the European Union must show willingness to value it in the right way, which is by dynamizing the negotiation process with the European Union," Mickoski said.

He noted that the Government is strongly committed to judicial reforms, delivery of justice and the fight against organized crime, which requires support and mobilization of all social actors.

The PM said the primary goal is to fight for the citizens' living standard and a better life, which will be achieved through innovation, investment and strong education.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, which brings together world leaders to discuss important European and global challenges. The Macedonian Prime Minister will also address the conference.
